This striking millefiori glass bead necklace is a beautiful example of traditional Venetian (Murano) artistry. 

Millefiori—meaning “a thousand flowers” in Italian—refers to the intricate mosaic floral patterns embedded within each bead.

Handcrafted using the ancient murrine technique, slices of patterned glass canes are fused onto each bead, creating vibrant, jewel-like detail against a rich red ground. 

The necklace features graduated oval beads, larger at the centre and tapering towards a classic screw-barrel clasp.

Venetian glass beads like these were once treasured trade items, exchanged across Africa, the Americas, and India, adding remarkable historical depth to this wearable art.
