These antique silver plated grape scissors are beautifully handcrafted in silverplate with grape clusters and leaf tendrils winding around. It was made by Dutch master silversmith H. Hooykaas for Schoonhovensche Zilverlabriek between 1924-1943 and has his "HH" hallmark on the back of the blade. The scissors are 5" long and 3" across the handle. Grape scissors (or shears) were traditionally used during the dessert course of a formal dinner to cut small servings from a larger bunch of grapes. A lovely collectable for your kitchen or dinner table.
