This is a truly charming, ultra-feminine portrait of a young woman, full of personality and soft decorative appeal (49cms x 44cms overall). The subject gazes directly at the viewer with expressive eyes, framed by a beautifully textured palette of pastel tones and lively brushwork. The floral hat and soft blue clothing give it a romantic, almost whimsical feel that would brighten any space.

The painting has a wonderfully tactile, impasto style — you can really see and feel the layers of paint, which adds depth and character. It’s signed “M. Madge” in the lower corner.  The overall size is approximately 49 cm x 44 cm including the frame, making it a great statement piece without being overwhelming. It comes in its original light-colored frame, which complements the artwork nicely.

Condition is good overall, with only minor signs of age consistent with a decorative piece of this type. ❗️Please note the slight damage to the inner frame pointed out with a red arrow in the 5th photo. Nothing that detracts from how it displays. This would be perfect for anyone who loves vintage-style portraits, shabby chic interiors, or soft, romantic decor.
