Looking into the Past, Present and Future

The right side of my painting portrays the past, the middle – struggling, battling between a shameful and foul past and an honest yearning to heal – is the present, and left shows the promise of new beginnings and a new life in Christ.

The past is depicted in the clock, showing the time dwindling away. The broken mask which is covering part of the man’s face is reference to his past of sexual immorality, fake and pretence. The mask shows that he is letting his past go. His hand is reaching out to the cross, in expectation of letting God guide his way forward. The paintbrush presents the glorious light flowing from heaven, circling the cross. The stairs invite the man to walk away from his bondage into the light of the Lord.
