A copper receptacle  featuring a wide, flared top with a central opening, a historical spittoon! A wide mouth for ease of use and a heavy base for stability.
Estimate age to be 1960s. Approximate size: height 15 cm, width at top 28 cm. Size of hole in centre 9.5 cm. No makers mark, just a number.
A spittoon is designed to collect saliva, particularly from chewing tobacco or betel nut - maybe for use at wine tastings? #copper
