Description: KLM Delft Miniature House #58. 

Stamped Blue Delfts' exclusively made for KLM by BOLS Amsterdam 1575 HKDNP. 2009 No58. 

The house known as "KLM house 58" is a miniature replica of the canal house located at Herengracht 101, Amsterdam, Netherlands. The real building was originally built in 1625 and was rebuilt in its current form in 1871.

It is a classic Amsterdam canal-side house. The original building was built around 1871 (replacing a structure from 1625) and commissioned by a house painter named P. Alewijn. Architectural Style: It features a simple cornice gable with matching windows on each storey. 

These houses are collectible items given to KLM business class passengers. They form part of a series produced for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. 

The houses were originally produced by Royal Goedewaagen, but the contract ended in 1995. House #58 specifically mentions the involvement of Bols, the distillery that provides the gin inside. The early houses were made in the Netherlands. Later houses were made in other locations like Singapore or Taiwan. House #58 is listed as made in the Netherlands. 

The miniature houses function as novelty decanters, originally filled with Bols Young Dutch Jenever (gin). They were given as gifts to passengers flying in Business or Royal Class on intercontinental KLM flights. 

Did you know? 
The houses have been issued since the 1950s. Since 1994, a new house is released every year on October 7th, KLM's anniversary. House number 58 would have been part of the collection issued prior to the 1994 regular annual releases. House #58 was released in 1989. 

They were originally created as a clever way to offer World Business Class passengers a "last drink on the house" (filled with Dutch gin, or jenever) while complying with international regulations that prohibited airlines from giving valuable gifts.
