Description: Beautiful Fenland Flying Ducks Butter Dish by Alfred Meakin.

The "Fenland" Pattern: This design, also frequently referred to as "Flying Ducks" or "Mallard Ducks," was a popular mid-century motif produced by the company during the 1950s. Manufactured by Alfred Meakin in Staffordshire, England, this piece is part of their "Glo White" collection, characterized by its bright white ironstone body and often featuring gilded (gold) edges. 

Glo-White Ironstone, a durable and opaque ceramic developed for everyday domestic use.

Made in England, 1940’s-1960’s.
Dating by Backstamp: The marking on your piece—"Glo-White, Alfred Meakin, England, Fenland"—is consistent with the post-World War II era. Specifically, the omission of "Ltd" from the mark generally indicates a production date after 1930.

Visible Flaws: Minor age-related wear.

Approximate Dimensions: Lidded Height 10cm, Length 20cm, Width 14.5cm. Minimal gold loss on the gold trim gilt lining. The gold trim on these pieces is often prone to wear.
