RARE COLLECTABLE - Pendant - Sacred Heart of Jesus on one side and Virgin Mary holding Baby Jesus on the other side, both quite worn and with no visible hallmark (Please note that the cross is included for free):
🔎 Identification
A Vintage Catholic double-sided devotional medal, made sometime between the 1930s and 1960s.
That specific pairing (Jesus on one side, Mary and the Child on the other) was a very traditional style given as:
a baptism or confirmation gift, a first communion keepsake, or a soldier’s or traveler’s medal (they were often blessed and worn for protection).
Most of these were made in Italy or France from sterling silver or 800-grade silver, and the absence of plating wear combined with my non-magnetic test supports that it’s solid silver rather than plated.
