Vintage Stanley London Natural Sine Brass Surveying Compass in Wooden Box 

Beautiful vintage-style brass pocket transit / surveying compass by Stanley London, complete with its original dark wood box (beautiful grain with brass hardware and inlay).
This is a classic “Natural Sine” model – perfect as a decorative piece for nautical, steampunk, or collector’s decor, or even as a functional tool for surveying, geology, or outdoor enthusiasts. 

Features include:
•  Engraved Natural Sine tables on the base (for calculating slopes/inclines)
•  Hinged mirrored sighting lid
•  Folding sight arm
•  Magnetic needle with degree markings
•  Internal bubble levels

Condition notes: The compass itself is in good working order – the needle moves freely, brass has a nice aged patina. The wooden box is solid with red felt lining. The mirror on the lid has some spots/marks (visible in photos) – it still reflects but isn’t perfect.

Size: Compass ~8cm diameter, box ~11.5 x 11.5 cm.
