Vintage Colorex Cobalt Blue Glass Oval Bowls (Set of 4) | Brazilian Ribbed Glass

Deep, and not in the mood to be subtle.

That cobalt blue doesn’t whisper — it settles in and takes its place. Rich, saturated, and slightly darker at the edges where the glass thickens, giving each bowl a sense of depth that shifts with the light. Then the ribbed sides and scalloped rim step in, adding structure and just enough movement to keep things interesting without over-complicating it.

There’s a certain weight to them visually. Low, wide, and grounded. Not decorative for the sake of it — just well-shaped glass that knows exactly what it’s doing. The oval form softens the boldness slightly, which makes them surprisingly easy to work into a table setting.

Each bowl measures approximately 20.7 cm by 15 cm with a height of around 4 cm — ideal for serving snacks, sweets, or small dishes when entertaining. They sit low on the table, easy to reach, and bring a bit of presence without getting in the way.

All four are marked Colorex on the base with “Made in Brazil” and a pattern number. They’re in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks — clean, well-kept glass with that deep cobalt tone intact.

Colorex sits within Brazil’s mid-20th century glass production — a period where makers focused on practical, durable pieces with a strong visual identity. There’s a quiet confidence to it. Not trying to compete with European names, but not needing to either. Pieces like these hold their own — solid, distinctive, and increasingly noticed.
