This Vintage sweater contain vintage acrylic, from the 1960s to 1980s, and is often very stiff and scratchy, frequently described as feeling like "sandpaper" or "plastic" compared to modern, softer alternatives. While some vintage acrylic can soften with heavy washing, it is generally rougher and less comfortable against the skin than modern, treated acrylic yarns.

Softening Techniques: Stiff vintage acrylic can be improved by soaking it in lukewarm water with hair conditioner or using specialized, gentle, and long washing techniques.
