If you love getting off the road and onto the trail, this is the shoe that will make you want to chase the muddiest, steepest, wildest line you can find. I'm selling my black pair of Salomon Speedcross 6s — they've done very limited kilometres and are pretty much brand new.

The Speedcross is a legend in the trail world, and for good reason. It's the traction specialist — the shoe you reach for when conditions get sketchy and you still want to move fast.

What's underfoot:

- Mud Contagrip outsole. Salomon's grippiest rubber compound, built for maximum bite on loose, soft and uneven ground. Nothing in its class comes close on mud, wet grass and steep dirt.
- Deep, aggressive lugs. Around 5mm deep with widely spaced chevron shaping that digs in hard and sheds mud fast, so you keep your footing when the trail turns sloppy.
- Protective, cushioned midsole. A firm, stable ride with a 10mm drop (roughly 32mm heel / 22mm forefoot stack) — designed to protect your feet and drive you forward on climbs and technical terrain.

The fit:

The SensiFit upper wraps snugly around your foot for a locked-in, secure hold, and the anti-debris mesh keeps sand and small stones out. The Quicklace system gives you a one-pull, dialled-in fit in seconds, with a handy pocket on the tongue to tuck the lace away. There's a cushy ankle cuff and good arch support for longer efforts too.

The feel:

Surprisingly manageable weight (around 296g) for such a rugged, protective shoe. It's a firm, purposeful, fast-feeling ride — not a soft cruiser, but a precise tool that makes technical trails feel fun and confidence-inspiring.
