I don’t believe the straps are leather; hence the peeling away from the body of the shoes. This is on both shoes at the bases of all straps. 
Slight scuffs on left heel. The heel bases can be replaced by a good shoe repair person. 
They are super comfortable and I would love to keep them, but my feet seem to have widened.
