We have another incredible Victorian solid sterling silver fob chain accompanied by a beautiful antique Victorian fob medal😃😍. Both pieces are steeped in history, showcasing the remarkable artistry and craftsmanship of the late 19th century. This chain is exceptionally rare and truly precious, with every single link individually hallmarked — a feature seldom seen, as most fob chains bear marks only on the T-bar or dog clips.

The T-bar is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1892, with the maker’s mark JS* for Joseph Sewill, a distinguished Victorian silversmith celebrated for his fine craftsmanship. Another rare and charming feature is the chain’s graduated links, which flow gracefully from smaller to medium, then to larger, before tapering once again — a wonderful display of thoughtful Victorian design.

This exquisite fob chain has been carefully repurposed into a wearable necklace, blending antique character with contemporary elegance. Fob chains such as this have seen a delightful resurgence in fashion, admired by collectors and even worn by celebrities who appreciate their timeless appeal.

The Victorian fob medal is an exquisite piece in its own right. Crafted in sterling silver and 9ct rose gold, it features a central rose gold crest shield adorned with intricate decorative patterns that radiate outward in ornate symmetry.🩷 Surrounding this centrepiece is a raised sterling silver frame, elevated above the rose gold, adding striking depth and dimension. The contrast between the cool sheen of silver and the warm blush of rose gold gives the piece a regal, luminous presence. It is fully hallmarked for Chester, 1851 and measures 3.4 cm x 2.6 cm.

The full length of the chain, including the clasp, is 49.7 cm.
