Here we have a late Georgian, early Victorian 10ct gold and either 14ct or 18ct gold (the flowers) brooch with the most incredible stones and details. The centre stone is a beautiful soft grey/ blue tone Chalcedony stone. On top of this stone are the most beautiful gold flowers and leaves, with beautiful blue turquoise stones, made into a forget-me-not flower. The outer border has the finest and delicate patterns that have been engraved on each of the frames paisley-like patterns. This brooch does not have a stamp on it, which was common during the Victorian era, however, it has been tested as 10ct. The centre flowers are either 14ct or 18ct. I can't confirm with the gold how high the carat is of because it is difficult to get clear accuracy through testing without damaging the brooch.The carats could be higher.

The story behind the brooch is really beautiful. The floral design, particularly the forget-me-not flower, often symbolizes love, devotion, and remembrance. The use of turquoise is also associated with good fortune and protection. During the Victorian era, that was a time when jewellery was used to express emotions and social status. That is also one reason why I have always loved Victorian jewellery because it has sentimental value to it. This brooch was most likely worn to remember someone and cherished, hence the forget-me-not symbolises love, devotion and remembrance. 

This brooch measures approximately 4.5 cm x 4 cm. These brooches sell online for anything from R17000 - R22000
