Bought from a vintage-loving, highly fashionable private owner who originally purchased this on holiday in the UK approximately 20 years ago. The Ritz label can be traced back to "Ritz Furs" established in NY, 1934. 

When I adopted this gorgeous and serendipitous coat, I was told that it was genuine fur, possibly from an authentic North American bear, but that due to its mysterious origin, a certificate of authenticity could not be issued. The texture and sheen, especially clear around the cuffs and collar, suggest that it could be real, but Iet's stick to faux fur. 

This coat has the look and feel of NYC bohemia in the 50s/60s. The lining and seams are intact, but please note that the right cuff-seam is the only place this rings untrue. Lastly, size-wise, this is a M to L.
