A beautiful pair of original limited edition prints by acclaimed South African artist Sam Nhlengethwa.

Both prints are hand signed by the artist and numbered 14/25, making them highly collectible small-edition works. Each print also carries the embossed chop mark on the paper, confirming its authenticity as a fine art print. They were produced in 1995 - The mid-1990s is a very significant period for South African contemporary art. It’s right after the end of apartheid, when artists like Nhlengethwa were gaining major national and international recognition.

They are professionally framed in matching dark grey wooden frames and present beautifully together as a pair. The condition is excellent overall with no age spotting. The Oranges print has very light fingerprint marks that have naturally browned with time, which is not uncommon with works on paper and does not detract from the visual impact when displayed- they can only be noticed on close inspection. 

Nhlengethwa is one of South Africa’s most celebrated contemporary artists, known for his distinctive narrative scenes of everyday life rendered in vibrant colour and expressive line. His work often captures moments of movement, community, and culture — qualities that make these pieces feel both historic and wonderfully alive.
