The term itself has deep historical roots; the Met traces Anglomania to the mid-to-late eighteenth century, when Englishness became not just a political fascination but a style cult. Westwood, naturally, took that idea and set it on fire in heels.high-waisted, tie-fastened, and gloriously out of step with anything as dull as “classic tailoring.” This is Westwood in full raiding-party mode: taking historical dress, nicking the best bits, and sending them back out into the world looking sexier, stranger, and infinitely less polite.
