Pair of small Japanese porcelain trinket dishes, each approximately 11.3 cm in diameter, beautifully hand-decorated in the traditional Imari palette of deep iron-red, cobalt blue, and gold. These richly patterned dishes capture the refined artistry of Japan’s Arita and Kyoto porcelain traditions.

• Classic Imari color scheme: red, blue, white, and gilt accents
• One marked Made in Japan with kanji seal (circa 1950s–1970s)
• One marked Imperial Kyoto Ware Maru Imari (circa 1960s–1980s)
• Both feature traditional chrysanthemum and floral motifs
• Excellent vintage condition, no chips or cracks
• Ideal for jewelry, desk décor, or as small serving or collector pieces

Imari Ware originated in the early 1600s in Arita, Japan, and was exported worldwide through the port of Imari. These wares are famed for their bold use of iron-red and cobalt blue under a clear glaze, often highlighted with gold.

Kyoto Ware (Kyo-yaki) evolved later, emphasising more intricate hand-painting and delicate glazes. The Imperial Kyoto Ware Maru Imari mark represents mid-20th-century reproductions of classic Imari designs, made for export during Japan’s post-war revival period.
