The most exquisite late 1940's, not later than 1953, slipper satin ball gown in a mesmerising steely blue.  A collector's piece that is still very wearable and comes in the box that it was originally sold in.  I believe it may have been worn only once as there are very few signs of it having been worn more than that.  This is a custom piece made by Rex Trueform.  It features short kimono sleeves edged with a micro pleated scrolled leaf appliqué which also embellishes the deep v of the neckline and the back.  The handmade appliqué is surround by a single row of glass seed beads.  The dress falls into a very full (not full circle) skirt, cut with four panels and moves like a swirl of water enveloping the body as the blues change from shallow to deep sea colours.  The original matching belt is cut narrow in the front and widens at the back, often seen in late 1940's dresses.  The dress is unlined and has an original side metal zip.  It has been shown with a single tulle net petticoat.

Condition:  the box is not in perfect condition but has been restored and is still usable as the storage for this dress.  The satin has fine fluff in small areas as a sign of having been worn.  Feint signs of pale round spots near the hem possibly from bad storage.  These may lift in a dry clean.  Overall, the dress in fantastic condition 9/10.
Please note, that it is a consigned piece for another owner and it has not been dry cleaned.  However, it is in immediate wearable condition as is.

Best fit size is a medium bust but smaller waist.  There is room in the seams to take it up to a full medium size waist up to 72cm.
