Children sized Greek Orthodox Thin Wrist Komboskini, Chotki, Prayer Rope from Mount Athos, Greece

A hand-knotted navy blue prayer rope with thin cord and glass beads. Made and acquired from Mount Athos, Greece, and blessed on many relics. Suitable for children wrist sizes. Made to be stretched over the hand and kept on your wrist as a reminder to pray. Once on, they can last for years. In the third photo you will see prayer ropes I’ve had on for as long as 10 years.

An Orthodox prayer rope, known in Greek as a komboskini (κομποσκοίνι) and in Church Slavonic/Russian as a chotki (чётки), is an essential  tool used by Orthodox Christians for keeping track of prayers, primarily the Jesus Prayer:

“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me.”

Prayer ropes can also be worn on the wrist as a blessing (not as a good luck charm or fashion statement), and as a reminder to pray.
