Shadowclub's debut album, Guns and Money, released on June 17, 2011, through Just Music, stands as a seminal work in South African rock. The Johannesburg-based trio—Jacques Moolman (vocals, guitar), Isaac Klawansky (drums), and Louis Roux (bass)—crafted a raw, blues-infused rock sound that garnered critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase.

The album was recorded live over nine days without the use of click tracks or guide tracks, emphasizing authenticity and energy. Produced by Matthew Fink and mastered by Brian Lucey (known for work with The Black Keys and Jane’s Addiction), the recording captures the band's dynamic performance style. Their influences range from classic blues artists like Howlin’ Wolf to rock legends such as The Doors and The Ramones.

Guns and Money received the 2012 South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Rock Album, highlighting its impact on the local music scene. The album's standout tracks include the title track "Guns and Money," the bluesy "Lucy," and the energetic "Good Morning Killer."
